Temporary Site UtilitiesThe installation and maintenance of construction site utilities including power, lighting, provision of safe and suitable equipment and facilities, staff welfare and accommodation are paramount to the overall success of a construction project. Construction sites present a challenging environment especially for the safe use of electricity. Much of the work is done outside in all weathers; damp and wet conditions increase the risk and severity of electric shocks. The temporary site distribution system may be used by many people who often work for different contractors and who will have various requirements and methods. Contractors may provide their own tools or use equipment provided by others. Effective management is necessary to ensure that all equipment is suitable for use and properly maintained. In addition to being able to carry out their duties construction site workers need adequate toilet and washing facilities, a place to warm up and eat their food and somewhere to store their clothing. Anybody in control of a site has to ensure that there are readily accessible welfare facilities and in accordance with the Construction (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996. Good facilities can have a positive benefit on workers health, moral and well-being. We work with our clients to ensure that the required services are available as and when required. |
